Fortunately, carrots still are... at least I hope that's what's going on here:

Dear food lady, yesterday I accidentally inserted a celery stalk in a rather unpleasant place. Not being one to waste an opportunity, I was wondering; what's the longest I can allow it to "marinate" without it going bad?
Thank you,
Dr. Waterpigsbottomlookslikeitsface, MD, USB, LAMF

Dear Dr. Waterpigsfacedoesnotlooklikeitsbottom,
Never fear, celery can marinate for up to 15 days without going bad. In fact, the longer you marinate it, the better it gets! Here's a picture of celery after it's been marinating for 13.5 days- as you can see, the flavor profile is greatly enhanced.
Happy marinating!

That's great news - thanks! I can tell you from personal experience that the time-frame for carrots is much shorter.
Thanks again,

(apologies for the ginormosity of the infographic, but I felt this was too groundbreaking not to share).

Darn. How did I miss that sale?
Any chance I could buy that off you, for, say, double the price?

Or could it....dun dun dun!
Presenting, the latest marvel in "food" "technology", the KFC skinwich*!
